Dear Internets’ star Curtis Carey co-stars with the incredible Tara Audibert in ‘The Curtis and Tara Show‘. Curtis (the freelance animator) and Tara (the college animation instructor) collide together in one podcast that just about covers whatever comes to mind. From movies to comics, video games, animation, art, news, and sometimes they even preform hilarious skits; they truly have fun making a podcast for themselves, by themselves and share it with the world. They are great and passionate artists who want to do what every artist dreams of… Share their creativity with the rest of the world.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with both Tara and Curtis a while back when Collideascope Digital Productions was in full swing. Although we were working for the same studio, we weren’t in the same complex, so it wasn’t until a few years later when Curtis and I started working at FatKat Animation Studio that we befriended each other. Then, when our time there was over, I got a job working for the same department as Tara, for a college animation program. Small world, even smaller industry.
Although I’ve never told them face to face, I find them truly inspiring people. I’m the kind who has lots of ideas and has a list of things I want to do before I die. My list is slowly being checked off while both Curtis and Tara put me to shame. To date, they have each published a book (Matthew Looses His Laugh and Sometimes I Rhyme). They have their very own podcast as I mentioned before, as well as a store with Curtis and Tara related merch. Tara’s been commissioned on a comic book while teaching in a college animation program. Curtis does some freelance animation and finds the time to do tons of animated shorts, including the animated series of Milo Vlogs which is a spin off their own podcast. Milo’s Vlogs also has a store with Milo merch. Their podcast is doing well, with over 100 episodes now and a Facebook fan page. And still the accomplishments go on…
Phew… I feel overworked just listing all those things! Anyways, one day I’ll have many new accomplishments done, but until then, I’ll just have to sit in Curtis and Tara’s dust for a while.
